Portraits by class 203 DL September 2011 Ms. Rosa's class

The students in Third Grade Dual Language are studying about Egypt in Spanish.

The students learned that  the Egyptians believed that when people died they went to a new world with their belongings. They looked forward to their new life and were not frightened of dying.

In this activity the students  in my class imagined that they were moving to a new place.  They decided what they would take with them on their journey and then painted a portrait surrounded by these important possessions.

Enjoy the artwork !
